El Paso, TX (KFOX14) — Okay, this was fun. We went to Bravo Cadillac in El Paso with one practical question: when the Cadillac LYRIQ, OPTIQ and ESCALADE IQ are sitting side by side, how do you decide which electric SUV actually fits your life?

I met Eddie Martinez, a member of Bravo Cadillac’s Sales & Leasing team, and started where a lot of drivers start. Gas prices may get your attention, but an electric vehicle decision quickly becomes about range, passenger space, daily driving and how much vehicle you really need. Eddie walked me through the three models, and the differences made much more sense once I could see them up close.

The Cadillac LYRIQ: An Established Entry Into Electric Luxury

Our first stop was the Cadillac LYRIQ. Eddie described it as Cadillac’s first move into its current electric vehicle lineup, with an emphasis on performance, quality and a drive that still feels fun.

That last part matters. Switching to an electric vehicle does not mean every decision suddenly becomes a spreadsheet about efficiency. Drivers still care about how a vehicle looks, feels and responds.

During our walkaround, Eddie pointed to the LYRIQ as an option for someone who wants to reduce trips to the gas pump without giving up the enjoyment of driving. Cadillac currently lists the 2026 rear-wheel-drive LYRIQ with an EPA-estimated range of up to 326 miles. Range varies by drivetrain, equipment, weather, terrain, battery condition and how the vehicle is used.

To me, the LYRIQ landed right in the middle of the group. It has presence without moving all the way into the scale of a three-row family SUV. That is not a ranking. It is a lifestyle difference.

The Cadillac OPTIQ: Smaller, Sporty and Made for Daily Life

Next came the Cadillac OPTIQ, the smaller crossover of the three. Eddie said he sees it making sense for students, recent college graduates, couples and drivers who want crossover versatility without moving into a full-size vehicle.

“This vehicle is perfect because it gives you the crossover feeling,” Eddie said.

He also pointed to the way Cadillac balanced two different personalities inside the vehicle.

“What I like about it is that all the interiors have been crafted to give that sporty feeling and that luxury feel as well,” he said.

Cadillac lists the 2026 OPTIQ as a five-passenger electric SUV. The rear-wheel-drive version has an EPA-estimated range of up to 317 miles, while available dual-motor all-wheel drive is rated at up to 303 miles.

Honestly, the color had my attention before we finished talking through the numbers. Sometimes that is part of the decision too. A vehicle still has to make you feel something when you walk up to it in a parking lot.

The OPTIQ felt like the practical answer for someone who wants an electric crossover for commuting, errands and everyday Borderland driving, but does not need three rows of seats.

The Cadillac ESCALADE IQ: Full-Size Space Goes Electric

Then we reached the ESCALADE IQ, and the scale of the conversation changed immediately.

This is Cadillac’s full-size electric SUV. The current 2026 model seats seven people across three rows and has a Cadillac-estimated range of up to 465 miles. It also features a 55-inch Horizon Display that stretches across the front of the cabin.

The screen is hard to ignore, but the space was what made the real point.

“I mean, look at these seats, the materials, the space,” Eddie said.

We looked at the separate climate controls, passenger technology, interior lighting and the room available for families. This is the option for someone whose EV questions include more than the morning commute. It is built for passengers, luggage, longer trips and the kind of family logistics that require actual room.

Eddie also showed us Super Cruise. One important clarification: Super Cruise is a hands-free driver-assistance system for compatible roads, not an autonomous driving system. Cadillac says the person behind the wheel must remain attentive and ready to take control at all times.

That distinction matters. The technology may help reduce some of the work of highway driving, but responsibility stays with the driver.

Choosing the EV That Fits Your Actual Life

The useful part of seeing all three vehicles together was realizing that there is no single “Cadillac EV buyer.”

The LYRIQ offers an established balance of electric range, luxury and crossover space. The OPTIQ packages the experience into a smaller five-passenger vehicle. The ESCALADE IQ takes it in the opposite direction with three rows, substantial passenger room and long-range capability.

The right question is not simply which one has the biggest screen or the longest published range. It is how many people you regularly carry, where you can charge, how far you normally drive and whether you really need a full-size SUV.

By the end of our visit, I said I thought I knew which one I was taking. That was honest. Seeing the vehicles side by side did more for me than reading three separate specification pages.

Eddie’s summary was simple: “We have a great selection of vehicles and I guarantee you we have one for you.”

One final practical note: Eddie mentioned a 0.9% financing promotion during the segment. Promotional rates are time-limited and may apply only to specific vehicles and qualified buyers. Bravo Cadillac’s own specials information says prices, incentives, inventory and availability can change, so viewers should confirm the current terms directly with the dealership before making a purchase decision.
