The announcement follows Alpha The Woodlands’ mid-August opening. Serving students in kindergarten through eighth grade, it is the first Alpha campus in the Houston area.
Officials told the Houston Business Journal the Heights expansion efforts were driven by growing demand from parents.
Alpha’s website lists Alpha Houston Heights as a K–8 location, but does not provide an address. Alpha School did not immediately respond to Chron’s request for comment by the time of publication.
Alpha School is a private school system driven by AI-driven educational models. The institution advertises that students complete their core academic learning in just two hours each morning using an AI-powered learning platform.
After two hours of core academics, students participate in workshops for roughly three hours. Activities focus on five essential life skills: teamwork and leadership, storytelling and public speaking, entrepreneurship and financial literacy, relationship building and socialization, and grit and hard work.
“We motivate kids by giving them the gift of time to pursue the things they want to do and develop life skills,” the website reads. “Adults in the room support motivated students to foster a growth mindset and independent learning.
On Aug. 13, Alpha School announced the opening of its newest Houston-area campus in The Woodlands, according to a recent news release. Alpha The Woodlands—located at 2000 Woodlands Pkwy—serves students from kindergarten through 8th grade with a $40,000 annual tuition.
“Families across the country are actively seeking a more personalized and engaging approach to education, and we’re proud to now be welcoming students in The Woodlands to that experience,” MacKenzie Price, co-founder of Alpha School, said in the release. “As we open new campuses this fall, like we have in The Woodlands, we’re focused on building environments where students can move at their own pace, develop confidence, and gain the skills they need for the future.”
In February, Alpha School submitted filings to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, detailing a $400,000 renovation of the roughly 8,000-square-foot facility, formerly an art gallery and a community information center.
