Dallas-Fort Worth’s stifling heat will continue Thursday across the region, with temperatures expected to top out near 106 degrees.
Thursday’s high will be 106 degrees, with a low of 81 degrees, according to the weather service. The heat index, or “feels like” temperature, is expected to near 108 degrees in North Texas.
Temperatures will be their highest around 4 p.m., according to the weather service. Thursday’s evening temperatures are expected to remain high, with temperatures in the low 90s expected into the early morning hours Friday.
Some northern counties in D-FW may see storms Thursday afternoon and evening, with gusty winds and lightning as the main storm threats, according to the weather service.
Concerns about wildfires remain due to the ongoing heat and low relative humidity. However, wind speeds, which can also contribute to wildfires starting, are expected to remain relatively light at 10-15 mph.
This weekend’s forecast is still dry for now, but the weather service said in its Wednesday afternoon forecast to keep any eye out for changes, as there is a slight chance of precipitation.
