LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Lubbock Meals on Wheels (LMOW) is teaming up with Sonic Restaurants for its annual “Big Wheels Deliver Meals” event on Friday, August 28, 2026. The unique initiative aims to raise public awareness and directly involve local celebrities and community leaders in the organization’s mission.
During the event, local “Big Wheels”—including community leaders and area celebrities—volunteer their lunch hour to deliver meals along LMOW routes. To make the deliveries extra special, they will be chauffeured in classic and unique cars, which are generously supplied and driven by local car owners and car club members.
Organizers are currently looking for more drivers to volunteer.
Sonic Restaurants is supporting the event by donating more than 1,100 meals to feed clients, volunteers, celebrities, and drivers.
