NanoAi’s new operations center joins a growing cluster of technology, manufacturing and defense-related investment in Richardson
Another advanced technology company is establishing a foothold in the Dallas-Richardson corridor, adding to a growing concentration of engineering, manufacturing and defense-related investment in the area.
NanoAi Technologies signed a lease for a new operations center in the Dallas-Richardson area, according to an Aug. 19 announcement from Intellistake Technologies Corp., which is pursuing an acquisition of the company.
The facility, internally called the “Op Center,” will support NanoAi’s engineering, quality and operations teams as the company works to move its technology toward deployment. The exact address, facility size and number of jobs associated with the center were not disclosed in the announcement.
Richardson’s Technology Footprint Keeps Growing
NanoAi arrives as Richardson continues attracting major technology and advanced manufacturing investments. That includes Collins Aerospace, which announced plans for approximately $57 million in investment and 570 jobs, as well as Celestica‘s roughly $300 million expansion of its Richardson operations. 1Finity Americas also established a new $13 million headquarters in the city.
Texas Instruments, meanwhile, is making major semiconductor investments across Texas that include expansion of its Richardson operations. North Texas’ broader technology momentum has also extended into neighboring Plano, where an ITAR-compliant engineering center is expected to eventually support more than 350 engineering jobs in areas including AI, cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing and defense-related work.
What NanoAi Is Building
NanoAi says it is developing nanotechnology-based sensing systems designed to identify trace airborne threats, including explosives, fentanyl and pathogens, without physical contact. The company says the technology is being developed for applications including wearable equipment, drones, robotics, vehicles and fixed systems.
NanoAi is also one of 10 development partners licensed by Gentex Corporation to develop accessories for its Ops-Core RAILINK helmet platform. The Richardson-area expansion comes while NanoAi’s ownership could soon change. Intellistake announced its proposed acquisition of the company on Aug. 4. If completed, NanoAi would become a wholly owned subsidiary, but the transaction remains subject to due diligence, financial audits and other closing conditions.
