What started as a Covid moneymaker for Trejo and Maria Becerra is now a beloved Dallas bakery. Now, they’re opening a second location, in Arlington.

Lubellas Patisserie was born out of the couple’s house when Trejo and Maria were laid off. Maria baked up cheesecakes, breads and muffins, and her husband sold them. Orders from social media overflowed. They opened their first bakery at 10323 Ferguson Road in east Dallas in 2022.

The couple didn’t need advertisements, reports our news partners at WFAA. They sold out the first day they opened. At first, it was only Maria’s baked goods being sold. Fan favorites include banana bread with caramelized banana slices on top, braided sticky monkey breads, a variety of conchas and croissant-like sweet and savory danishes. But now, they have a full brunch and lunch menu.

Their second bakery will open this fall in north Arlington, marking it as their first Tarrant County location. Trejo told WFAA that the flagship store will remain as the “baking hub,” which will deliver goods to the Arlington store daily.

What’s on the menu at Lubellas

Besides the assortment of pastries and baked goods you can purchase from Lubellas, the bakery also has a full brunch and lunch menu. Guests can ask for a mystery box with a random assortment of 10 pastries for $25 from 2 to 3 p.m. on days they are open.

Brunch serves up French toast, chilaquiles, eggs Benedict, omelettes, steak and eggs and quiches.

Lunch offers a variety of croissant sandwiches with choices like a BLT, club, tuna salad, chicken pesto and caprese. There is also a brisket burger with a chipotle brioche bun and all the accoutrements.

For main dishes there are crêpe options, grilled chicken with roasted veggies, pork Milanese and a pesto salmon.

While the restaurant is fast-casual style, the dining room at Lubellas in Dallas has plenty of bistro style tables and chairs.

Lubellas’ first Tarrant County location

Lubellas has a slated opening date for this fall. An exact timeline has not yet been announced, but updates will be posted to Lubellas’ social media pages.

According to Lubellas’ website, the second location will be located in the Town North Shopping Center at 978 N Cooper St. in north Arlington.
