EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A 37-year-old woman is facing murder charges as investigators allege she stabbed and strangled a woman to death after a party in Northeast El Paso.

Jail records show Regan Shameika Anderson was booked into the El Paso County Downtown Jail and charged with murder on Friday.

According to the complaint affidavit, Anderson is being accused of stabbing and killing Daissy Guadalupe Moreno on July 18, after the two got into an argument during a house party held at the 4000 block of Lavell Avenue near Dyer Street in Northeast El Paso.

Witnesses reportedly told investigators that as the party was ending, Moreno got into an argument with the woman hosting the party after she allegedly claimed she was a police informant and accused Anderson and others of criminal activity.

Witnesses added that at this point they saw Moreno getting dragged by her hair into a black car and leaving with Anderson and two other people from the party.

This is the last time the witnesses saw Moreno alive.

In the affidavit, the next day, on July 19, a person identified as a “confidential source of information” told a police officer working off-duty at the Walmart on Dyer Street that he had been allegedly approached by Anderson, who allegedly told them that they had stabbed Moreno in the neck while another person held her down and others watched and did nothing.

The informant asked Anderson why, and she allegedly told them because of drugs, adding that at some point Moreno had engaged in an intimate relationship with her boyfriend.

Furthermore, the informant said Anderson allegedly asked them for help getting rid of the body, offering $250 in exchange.

The body was not discovered until some days later.

On July 23, investigators discovered Moreno’s body during a separate, unrelated murder investigation being conducted at an apartment complex in the 3600 block of Fred Wilson Avenue.

According to the affidavit, a person flagged investigators, letting them know that there was a foul smell coming from some nearby apartments.

When investigators checked it out, they found Moreno’s decomposing body, wrapped in a shower curtain with a bag over the head and a bottle of bleach, inside an apartment in a large pool of blood.

Based on the circumstances around the body, investigators determined someone had tried to clean the scene up.

The affidavit states that the autopsy shows that Moreno’s death was caused by multiple stab wounds and strangulation.

According to the affidavit, investigators found surveillance video that shows the alley behind the apartment where Moreno’s body was found on the night of the party.

Investigators said the video shows the black car arrive with Moreno, Anderson and others enter the apartment– adding that Moreno is never seen leaving.

The affidavit also alleges that witnesses showed investigators Facebook messages showing a conversation where the murder was discussed by those involved.

The woman who hosted the party where Moreno was last seen reportedly got a Facebook message after the murder that read: “They got rid of the problem.”

Jail records show Anderson is being held without bond.
