LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – 2Q: BYU is looking to respond to Texas Tech’s opening field goal and touchdown. The Cougars are forced to try a 51-yard field goal and it’s no good.
J’Koby Williams busts a 43-yard run to open the Texas Tech drive. On third down, Terrance Carter picks up the first down on a slant.
BYU, however, puts an end to the Red Raider drive by forcing a field goal. Texas Tech up 13-0 with 8:08 left in the first half.
1Q: The crowd is packed for the biggest game in the country.
Texas Tech wins the opening coin toss. They elect to defer to the second half.
The Red Raider defense forces a punt but immediately gets hit with a false start.
Texas Tech is forced to punt and BYU fumbles on the return and the Red Raiders recover.
Texas Tech strikes first after Stone Harrington connects on a 47-yard field goal.
On a 3rd and 13, BYU is stuffed after a few yards forcing a BYU punt. The Texas Tech offense takes over at its own 8-yard line.
The Red Raider offense drove down the field on its next possession and Caleb Douglas catches a toe-tapping over-the-shoulder throw for the first touchdown of the game.
