Texas restaurants will receive their 2026 Michelin Guide results without the fanfare of an in-person ceremony this fall.
Michelin has set Thursday, October 8, as the release date for the third annual Texas selection. Rather than gathering chefs, restaurateurs, tourism officials, and media for a formal reveal, however, the organization will announce its new Stars, Bib Gourmands, Recommended restaurants, and other distinctions digitally through a press release, website, and its app.
The change marks a clear departure from the guide’s first two years in Texas. Michelin hosted an invitation-only ceremony in Houston for the inaugural 2024 guide and returned to the city in 2025, when the annual honors were announced October 28 at the Wortham Theater Center.
For 2026, however, no live Texas ceremony, public celebration, or host venue has been announced. Michelin has indicated that it is adopting a digital reveal format in certain markets as its global guide operation continues to expand. Michelin will, however, continue to cover Texas with ongoing evaluation of restaurants in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio.
A digital rollout will allow diners to see the results immediately, but it does remove a bit of the anticipation and glitz.

Restaurants across the five covered Texas markets will now await the October 8 announcement from their screens, hoping to retain existing Stars and Bib distinctions or earn their first recognition from the influential French guide.
Houston has 44 Michelin-recognized restaurants/concepts in the current 2025 Michelin Guide Texas selection: 6 one-star restaurants, 22 Bib Gourmands, and 16 Recommended restaurants. Presently, six Houston restaurants have Michelin Stars. Those are Le Jardinier, March, Corkscrew BBQ, BCN Taste & Tradition, Tatemó, and Musaafer.
