CORPUS CHRISTI — The Gregory-Portland girls cross country team won the Moody XC Invitational on Aug. 22 at Garcia Park with all five runners finishing in the top 10.
All seven of the runners competing for the Wildcats finished 16th or better to take the team victory over district rival Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial.
Caitlyn Odom led the way with a third-place finish, timing in at 13 minutes, 23 seconds and Emma Joppa was fourth at 13:24. Avrie Demetros finished seventh, clocking in at 13:52, Alexia Reeves was ninth at 14:10 and Zoe Espinoza finished 10th at 14:11. Jessamine Andersen took 12th with a time of 14:37 and Jubilee Whitney was 16th at 15:00.
The Wildcats scored 33 points to finish 16 points ahead of Veterans Memorial.
On the boys side, four runners competed in the meet with Colton Bronk finishing 14th overall in the event with a time of 17:30. Joshua Delatte was 23rd at 18:45, Zarin Flores 27th with a time of 18:54 and Jonathan Hernandez 57th, clocking in at 20:39.
