SAN ANTONIO — State troopers arrested a driver early Saturday morning after a high-speed vehicle pursuit ended with a crash onto a runway at San Antonio International Airport, according to preliminary police radio transmissions.
The pursuit began around 1:30 a.m. when a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) trooper attempted a traffic stop on a 2012 Chrysler passenger car near the intersection of Babcock and 410. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 25-year-old Brandon Christopher Figueroa.
According to DPS, Figueroa evaded through various parts of the city until he crashed into a gate off Jones Maltsberger Road and into the San Antonio Airport Runway.
Troopers took Figueroa into custody at gunpoint shortly after the crash. Troopers also located a firearm in the vehicle.
He was arrested for Evading in a Motor Vehicle and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
