Man walking on downtown San Antonio sidewalk struck by vehicle; Driver flees, SAPD says

SAN ANTONIO – A man was hospitalized after a vehicle veered off onto a sidewalk and struck him in downtown San Antonio, according to the police department.

Officers responded to the crash just before 10 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of East Martin Street.

Police said the vehicle veered onto the sidewalk for an unknown reason and struck the 31-year-old man, who was walking westbound on East Martin Street.

The driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the man, according to San Antonio police.

The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His condition was not immediately known.

No arrests have been made, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
