Charlotte Sue Jobe, 91, of Temple Terrace, Florida, passed away peacefully on Aug. 16, 2026, at her home. She was born June 24, 1935, in Weatherford, Oklahoma, to Harlan Sewell and Lois Lorene Coffman. Charlotte was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who devoted her life to her home and family. She took great pride in creating a home filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories. Her kindness, creativity, and dedication to those she loved left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Charlotte valued education. She earned her BA Degree in Home Economics from Abilene Christian College where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was listed in Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. She received her Teacher’s Certification from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. Her love of learning and working with children led her to a career as an elementary school teacher in Garden Grove, California and Fort Worth and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Charlotte and Bob met at church in Albuquerque while Bob was serving in the Army at Los Alamos and the Nevada Test Site. They were married on Friday, July 20, 1962, at Berrydale Church of Christ in Garden Grove, California. She designed her gown from two patterns. Jane Coffman, sister of the bride and maid of honor, wore a gown sewn by the bride. She later devoted herself to her family as a homemaker in La Mesa, California, and Fort Worth. She was also active in PTA, taught piano, and enjoyed tutoring others. A woman of many talents, Charlotte had a lifelong love of sewing, cooking, and homemaking. Her interest in fashion design blossomed into a talent for sewing, and she lovingly made clothing for herself and her daughters. While studying Home Economics at Abilene Christian College, she developed a pie crust recipe as part of an Advanced Projects class, combining her creativity and practical skills. She pieced and sewed “100 Day” quilts for Jane Weaver’s fifth-grade classes, one of which was presented to renowned primatologist Jane Goodall. She was also involved in Secret Pals during her years in California. In her leisure time, Charlotte enjoyed playing games, particularly dominoes, 42, Rook, and Rummikub. She was an enthusiastic supporter of her local teams, cheering on the Dallas Mavericks and Texas Rangers. Charlotte will be remembered for her devotion to her God, her family, her generous spirit, her creativity, and the warmth and laughter she brought into her home. Her legacy lives on through the family she loved so dearly and the many lives she touched throughout her years. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
