Extreme heat with a low chance of rain can be expected in the Dallas-Fort Worth area this week.
Highs for the week will be in the lower 100s, with an extreme heat warning possibly extending further into the start of the week, said Patricia Sanchez, National Weather Service meteorologist.
In the second half of the week, Sanchez said there will be low chances of rain, with temperatures between 100 degrees and 103 degrees for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
She said individuals should avoid the heat and spend less time outside during the hottest parts of the day, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
“Please stay hydrated,” Sanchez said. “Recognize the symptoms, meaning if you feel dizzy, you’re nauseated, any of the heat-related symptoms, to really kind of move to a cooler area.”
