EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso County Commissioners Court on Monday approved a resolution recognizing soccer standout Ricardo Pepi following his selection to the United States Men’s National Team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The resolution also declares Aug. 24, 2026, as “Ricardo Pepi Day” in El Paso County.
Pepi, an El Paso native and striker for Dutch club PSV Eindhoven, was named to the 26-player U.S. roster for the World Cup alongside fellow El Paso native Alejandro “Alex” Zendejas.
Pepi has made 35 appearances for the U.S. men’s national team and scored 13 goals.
During the most recent club season, he recorded 19 goals and two assists in 34 matches for PSV Eindhoven.
Pepi was born in San Elizario, Texas.
Pepi played in 5 games for the USMNT during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
