According to the fundraiser, the teen also lost clothing and personal belongings in the fire. Organizers said donations will help cover immediate and future needs, including clothing, living expenses, school needs, counseling and other costs as he begins rebuilding his life.
The Corpus Christi Fire Department previously told 3NEWS that two people were inside the home when the fire broke out. The surviving person called 911 after hearing a smoke alarm.
Firefighters contained the fire to a room and its contents and extinguished it within about 15 minutes, but Mack was found dead inside the home.
The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation. To make a donation, click here.
