Boerne Little League’s World Series run ends with elimination loss

BOERNE, Texas — Boerne Little League’s return to the Little League World Series came to an end Monday after the team fell 1-6 to Hamilton, Ohio.

The loss followed a 3-4 defeat against Tacoma, Washington, in Boerne’s opening game Friday. With the second loss, Boerne was eliminated from the tournament.

Boerne had earned its spot in the Little League World Series by capturing the Southwest Regional championship Aug. 10 with a 4-1 victory over Louisiana. The trip marked the second World Series appearance in program history, coming just two years after the team made its debut on the national stage.

Although the tournament ended sooner than the team had hoped, the World Series experience gave the young players an opportunity to compete against some of the best Little League teams in the country while creating memories with their families.

Boerne’s appearance in Williamsport marks the program’s second trip to the Little League World Series in three years.
