EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso Community College board of trustees are expected to take the next step this week on the college’s budget and a possible tax rate increase.

Trustees are proposing raising the college’s no new revenue rate by 8 percent for the next fiscal year. Officials say the no new revenue rate is meant to bring in about the same amount of taxes as last year when comparing properties taxed in both years.

Trustees are also set to consider the fiscal year 2026 to 2027 operating budget and a notice of public hearing on a tax increase.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at 9050 Viscount.
