MVP announced Turhan-Baumgardner will headline MVPW-07 in the final of four world title fights, describing it as a championship supercard where College Park Center will play host.
The evening’s co-main event that Sunday will follow the same theme. WBC featherweight champ Tiara Brown (21-0, 11 KOs) will make her third title defense against former Ring and undisputed 122-pound titlist Ellie Scotney (12-0), who like Baumgardner hopes to become a two-weight world champion on her divisional debut.In a press release shared Tuesday, Turhan summed up the clash: “Alycia is a boxer who steps into the ring determined to win, never even entertaining the possibility of defeat, I do not want to lose either. We guarantee a fierce, relentless battle where everything is left on the line. Two warriors, one fight and only one winner.”The 32-year-old Baumgardner described this as a ‘fight in her backyard’, is looking forward to making history and fancies chasing undisputed status in a second weight class after nine years campaigning at 130 pounds. That’ll be music to the ears of Ring and unified champion Caroline Dubois, who has long called for a matchup between them.

“When I set my mind to something, I see it through and 135 will be no different,” Baumgardner said in the same release, which confirmed the four marquee names will feature in an official kick-off presser from the West Midlands city on Thursday.
Elsewhere on the same card, Skye Nicolson (16-1, 3 KOs) will make her promotional debut with MVP when making her maiden WBC junior featherweight title defense against Miyo Yoshida (19-5, 1 KO).
They were originally slated to fight as part of a busy Mayer-Cameron undercard this weekend, before the Aussie champion withdrew after sustaining an undisclosed training injury earlier this month.
Not to be forgotten is a WBO, IBF junior featherweight title unification bout to decide Scotney’s successor at 122 pounds. Mikiah Kreps (11-0, 3 KOs) will face Ramla Ali (11-2, 3 KOs) in a tussle between former sparring partners.
