Why did you choose this profession? To continue to be of service like I did with the military.

How do you deal with stressful situations? I think with me joining the military right out of high school and being deployed several times, it helped control that mindset – to handle it bit by bit, work on the problem that’s in front of you and move on to the next.

Hobbies & interests: Love going to the movies with my wife now that our kids are grown, enjoy going to different ramen places (Fun Noodle Bar is my favorite), I enjoy traveling. Every year my wife and I go to Savannah, Georgia for St. Patrick’s Day.

Community involvement beyond work: All my community involvement is tied to the Honor Guard. I love supporting Texas South Plains Honor Flight where we do a wall of honor for local veterans on their way to and from Washington, D.C. Also, the Fourth of July celebrations draw in a huge crowd. They’re a great way to show support to the citizens of Lubbock. There are many others like the Christmas Parade for Texas Girls and Boys Ranch, a meet and greet for Special Olympics, and honoring the fallen veterans for Memorial Day.

Quote: Everything happens for a reason, and it will all work out in the end.
