Six Flags Entertainment plans to relocate its corporate headquarters from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Arlington in 2027, placing its top leadership and shared business functions closer to its Texas parks and the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth entertainment district.
The company said the transition to its existing Arlington office at Choctaw Stadium is expected to be completed by March 2027. The office has housed part of Six Flags’ corporate workforce since 2020.
The move is intended to streamline corporate functions, speed decision-making and bring leadership closer to park operations.
Arlington is home to Six Flags Over Texas, one of the company’s five Texas properties.
“The decision to return the Company’s headquarters to Arlington is a continuation of our efforts to evolve the organization and enhance operational efficiency,” President and CEO John Reilly said in a statement. “Bringing our corporate team together in the office will enhance collaboration across functions, strengthen our culture, and improve coordination among our new executive leaders.”
The move marks a return to Arlington for the company, whose history began more than six decades ago with the opening of Six Flags Over Texas. The Arlington office will become the primary base for the company’s corporate leadership and shared services as it oversees 34 parks and nine resort properties across North America.
Reilly said consolidating operations in Arlington would create a “leaner, more responsive organization” focused on supporting park leaders.
“Arlington is a vibrant entertainment district where the Six Flags story began more than six decades ago,” Reilly said. “The city sits at the heart of our five Texas parks and provides our leadership team with direct access to park operations and a regular on-the-ground presence.”
The relocation adds another major corporate presence to Arlington’s entertainment district, which includes Choctaw Stadium, AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Field and Texas Live! Six Flags said it plans to build on its existing Arlington workforce and tap into the broader Dallas-Fort Worth talent pool as it pursues long-term growth.
The company recently highlighted its investment in Arlington through the opening of Tormenta: Rampaging Run at Six Flags Over Texas. Six Flags described the attraction as the world’s first giga dive coaster and said its debut was intended to bolster visitation and tourism in the region.
Six Flags said it will continue to maintain a significant presence in the Charlotte area through Carowinds and Carolina Harbor. The company also plans to keep an office in Sandusky, Ohio.
Six Flags, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol FUN, operates 20 amusement parks, 14 water parks and nine resort properties in the United States, Canada and Mexico, along with an amusement park in Saudi Arabia.
Since 2018, hundreds of companies have moved to Texas, including behemoths such as Hewlett-Packard, Charles Schwab, and Chevrolet, underscoring the state’s business-friendly appeal.
