About 100 residents have been displaced, two people were taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation, and three were treated at the scene during a massive west Fort Worth apartment fire early Tuesday, officials said.
More than 30 fire units were dispatched to the Shadowwood Apartments at 6701 Calmont Ave. starting about 6 a.m., according to the 911 call sheet. Fort Worth Fire Department officials said it was a three-alarm fire.
About 50 apartments were damaged in the blaze, fire officials said.

The American Red Cross will provide emergency assistance to the displaced residents.
Red Cross North Texas Region officials and the City of Fort Worth worked together to open an evacuation point at Evans Recreation Center for affected residents. The shelter is at 3242 Lackland Road, and disaster assistance is free, according to the Red Cross.

In a separate incident, three adults were displaced and two firefighters were injured in a house fire late Monday night in south Fort Worth.
