DSABC has formally declared contract talks are at an impasse after it says a new contract from the county has no pay raise for deputies

The Deputy Sheriff’s Association of Bexar County says talks with the county over a new collective bargaining agreement are at an impasse, KSAT Investigates has learned.
In a message sent to its members and obtained by KSAT Investigates, the DSABC Board of Directors is requesting the two sides go to mediation.
The message said the county’s most recent proposal was for one year with no pay raise.
The board said in the message that it hopes a mediator can help move the negotiations with the county forward. It also questions whether “good-faith bargaining can continue.”
The recent collective bargaining agreement was ratified in February 2022. It included a minimum 15% pay raise through 2025. The union said the contract expired in September 2025 and is currently in the evergreen period.
