SAN ANTONIO — The SAISD Foundation held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday for new outdoor learning spaces for pre-kindergarten through second-grade students at Green Elementary at Riverside Park.
The project, funded through a grant from the Najim Charitable Foundation, added specialized outdoor play and learning equipment at Green Elementary, Beacon Hill Primary and Franklin Elementary.
The new spaces included water and nature play areas, musical equipment and mud kitchens designed to support creative play, social-emotional development and gross motor skills.
The foundation said the outdoor spaces were created to give young students more hands-on learning opportunities through play.
