Elvin Joe Fritsch, Sr., 101, beloved husband and father died and entered eternal life on August 20, 2026. Elvin was born on November 29, 1924 in Hallettsville, Texas to Joseph and Helen Fritsch. He graduated from the local high school (class of 1941). During World War II he joined the Navy and served in the Pacific theatre of operations, being discharged as a Quartermaster First Class. He graduated from Drake University College of Pharmacy in 1950 and retired as a pharmacist in December, 1986.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of over 68 years (Norma L. Fritsch), his son-in-law (James) and his grandson (Jacob). He is survived by his four children, Gloria Whitley, Elvin Fritsch Jr., Lisa (Robert) Slaton and Eric (Cheryl) Fritsch, 11 grandchildren Yvette and Brian Whitley, Lauren (Lance) Seymour, Clark Fritsch, Kyle (DeeAnn), Miranda (Jared Hale) and Derek (Tavee) Slaton, Jerod (Teja), Joley, Jadyn and Jaxon Fritsch, and 11 great grandchildren Jamie and Kaylie Whitley, Cooper and Summer Seymour, Michael and James Tamayo, Evelyn Hale, Isabella, Sofie and Jackson Slaton and Landon Trujillo.
A visitation will be held from 6 – 9 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that same evening. His Funeral Mass will be at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church on Thursday, August 27 at 11:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
