To say that the last nearly two months have been a rough stretch for Dallas Trinity FC and manager Chris Petrucelli would be an understatement.
On Saturday, Trinity lost 2-0 to Sporting Club Jacksonville at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. The defeat for Trinity now stretches the club’s winless streak to six matches and marks their fourth straight defeat. The last time Trinity won a match was Sept. 6 against Jacksonville.
Jacksonville jumped out to a lead in the 6th minute with a goal from forward Paige Kenton. They’d score their second and the final goal of the match in the 23rd minute from forward Ashlyn Puerta. Trinity had 16 shots in total and four on target, along with 49% possession, but were unable to turn that into any goals.
Trinity now sits in sole possession of second-to-last place in the Gainbridge Super League standings. Tampa Bay Sun FC is the lone team below Trinity. Tampa Bay has yet to win so far this season.
