SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Negotiations between the Deputy Sheriff’s Association of Bexar County and the county over a new contract have reached an impasse, according to the union.

The union is asking for mediation after the county proposed a one-year agreement with no pay raise.

The previous contract, ratified in 2022, included a minimum 15% pay increase through 2025. The union says the contract expired in September 2025 and remains in effect under an evergreen provision.

The union hopes mediation can help restart negotiations.
