Good Good gets in hot, hot water.

Good Good, a Frisco-based, golf-focused, digital media company and lifestyle brand, is receiving some backlash after one of its ads for Callaway depicted co-founder Garrett Clark shoving employee Alexis Miestowski to the ground before telling her, “Do not touch my new driver.” Critics say the ad makes light of domestic violence.

The company has since taken down the ad, and released a statement. “We posted a video to our channels that ultimately depicted actions that are not aligned with our values as a brand,” the company said. “We have since taken that content down, and sincerely apologize. Good Good has always stood for making the game of golf more inclusive to all, and we will continue to ensure that is our mission going forward.”

The company and Callaway’s partnership began three years ago. In a statement, Callaway CEO Chip Brewer said that while the ad was produced by Good Good, Callaway did approve it. “That approval should never have happened. Mistakes were made, and we are taking the matter very seriously,” he said. “As we deal with the consequences of our mistake and complete our investigations, I want to make it clear that we sincerely apologize for the video. The content was inappropriate and does not reflect our values.”

Good Good was launched as a YouTube channel in 2020, and has become one of the largest content creators in golf. The company is the title sponsor of the Good Good Championship, a new PGA Tour event slated for November at the Fazio Canyons Course at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin.
