CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi is moving from Stage 2 to Stage 1 water restrictions.
City Manager Peter Zanoni is expected to make the declaration at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, inside Corpus Christi City Council Chambers at 1201 Leopard Street.
The change will ease the city’s current drought restrictions and will be made under Corpus Christi’s Drought Contingency Plan.
3NEWS will stream the declaration live on 3NEWS+, giving residents a chance to hear directly from city leaders about the change and what Stage 1 means for water customers.
Corpus Christi Water Chief Operating Officer Nick Winkelmann will be available to answer questions following the declaration.
The city’s scheduled budget workshop will begin immediately afterward. 3NEWS will provide updates on the new Stage 1 restrictions and what residents need to know as more information becomes available.
