Bar Moon brings cocktails, live music and a night out to Post Oak

  • August 28, 2026

HOUSTON – Looking for a new spot for cocktails and a night out? Bar Moon is bringing creative drinks, live jazz and weekend DJ sets to Post Oak.

Located on Post Oak, Bar Moon is an intimate cocktail lounge with a design inspired by the lunar cycle. You’ll find those details throughout the space, including in its cocktails and bites.

Bar Moon opened in October 2025 and is curated by Bastion Events, a collaboration between The Bastion Collection — an international hospitality group that has collectively been awarded 10 Michelin stars since 2019 and is behind Michelin-starred Le Jardinier at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston — and Café Natalie, a Houston leader in luxury events and catering.

Since opening, Bar Moon has become a popular spot for cocktails in the Post Oak area, whether you’re stopping by after dinner or making it part of your weekend plans.

And now, you can get a taste of Bar Moon at home. Joao Diniz, director of hospitality, is shaking up two of the lounge’s cocktails on “Houston Life.” Originally from Brazil, Diniz has spent seven years in the hospitality industry, including six years behind the bar, and has called Houston home for more than a decade. He also speaks English, Portuguese and Spanish.

The two recipes Diniz shared pair well with Bar Moon’s musical programs so that you can sip along with Jazz Night or the weekend DJ sets. Watch Joao make the two cocktails: Lunar Rush and Light Side in the video. Plus, we’re getting the first taste before it hits the menu on Friday, Aug. 28. Scroll for the recipes.

There’s always something happening

If you’re looking for more than cocktails, Bar Moon has live music throughout the week.

Jazz Nights: Every Wednesday from 8 to 11 p.m., enjoy live jazz from local artists. This September, vocalist Jeremy Joseph will be part of the lineup, performing jazz versions of neo-soul and modern R&B songs.

Live DJ Sets: Fridays and Saturdays from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., DJs spin house music.

Hidden Omakase Residency: Bar Moon’s private dining room is also home to an ongoing Hidden Omakase residency. The Michelin-recommended omakase experience seats just 12 guests per seating, with seatings at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Reservations are available through Hidden Omakase’s Resy page.
