As of Wednesday, Aug. 26, the Cityview Lanes bowling alley on Oakmont Boulevard is permanently closed.

A message posted to Cityview’s website confirmed that the bowling alley is closed because the property was sold to a private investment group. A sign was also posted on the bowling alley’s front door, stating “Cityview Lanes permanently closed, effective 8-26-2026.”

The North Texas chapter of USBC, the national governing body of bowling, took to Facebook to acknowledge the gravity of this closure.

“For so many years, Cityview has been more than just a bowling center,” the post wrote. “It has been a home to leagues, tournaments, friendships, celebrations, and countless memories. Generations of bowlers have walked through those doors, and we know this news is going to be difficult for a lot of people.”

Cityview originally opened as Don Carter’s Cityview in 1986, and later became Cityview Lanes. The bowling alley was at 6601 Oakmont Blvd., off Chisholm Trail Parkway.
