SAN ANTONIO – The People of La Junta for Preservation plans to hold a press conference Friday afternoon following a hearing on an emergency temporary restraining order related to construction in the Big Bend region.

The group will be joined by members of the Lipan Apache Tribe, State Sen. Roland Gutierrez and attorney Dick DeGuerin.

The legal action seeks an emergency court order connected to construction opposed by preservation advocates, who have called for work in the Big Bend area to stop permanently. Customs and Border Protection has said construction will be paused through at least Aug. 31.
