A Richardson Independent School District high school teacher is facing felony charges after allegedly soliciting a minor online.

41-year-old Michael Ralph Fouse was arrested on Friday, Aug. 28, as Richardson Detectives executed an arrest warrant and search warrant at his residence. He was taken into custody without incident.

Fouse taught at Berkner High School and was immediately placed on administrative leave by Richardson ISD, which said it learned of his charges early Friday morning.

“The district will continue to cooperate fully with the Richardson Police Department as it conducts its criminal investigation. RISD will take all appropriate and necessary action based on the findings of these investigations,” the school district said in a statement.

Detectives began investigating Fouse on Aug. 20 after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Fouse was charged with Online Solicitation of a Minor, a third-degree felony. The investigation is ongoing and authorities are working closely with Richardson ISD to gather additional information.
