EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Salvation Army of El Paso will host its annual Lone Star Gala on Thursday, Sept. 3, at the Epic Railyard Event Center as the organization raises money to support local programs addressing hunger and homelessness.

The event will raise funds for food and shelter programs that assist El Paso individuals and families dealing with food insecurity, homelessness, and financial hardship, organization officials said.

Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and three-time Texas Sportscaster of the Year, Babe Laufenberg, is scheduled to serve as the featured speaker.

The gala will also recognize the donors, volunteers, and community partners who help The Salvation Army provide services in El Paso.

The organization says community support is important to keeping its food, shelter, and emergency financial assistance programs available to residents who need help.

More information about the organization and its local services is available at salvationarmyelpaso.org.
