ANDREWS, Texas (KOSA) – Andrews ISD was notified by the Andrews ISD Police Department that an Andrews High School teacher was arrested Friday afternoon.
Christopher Leggett Cleveland was arrested from the Andrews High School campus at around 1:27 p.m. Friday, August 28, according to the Andrews ISD release.
According to Andrews County jail records, Cleveland was arrested for online solicitation of a minor.
This charge stems from a warrant out of Arlington, Texas.
Andrews ISD is cooperating fully with the Andrews ISD Police Department and will continue to assist law enforcement as appropriate, the release says.
The district says it does not have full information to release regarding the situation surrounding the arrest.
The Andrews ISD Police Department will issue a statement as soon as additional details are available and appropriate for release.

At approximately 1:27 p.m. today, Andrews ISD was notified by the Andrews ISD Police Department that an Andrews High School teacher, Christopher Leggett Cleveland, had been taken into custody from the Andrews High School campus.
Andrews ISD is cooperating fully with the Andrews ISD Police Department and will continue to assist law enforcement as appropriate.
At this time, the District does not have full information to release regarding the circumstances surrounding the individual’s arrest. The District can not speculate regarding the matter or provide information that has not been confirmed by law enforcement.
As soon as additional details are available and appropriate for release, the Andrews ISD Police Department will issue a statement.

ANDREWS, Texas — On Friday, August 28, 2026, at approximately 1:21 p.m., officers with the Andrews ISD Police Department were contacted by a member of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force regarding a wanted individual who was believed to be located on an Andrews ISD campus.
Information provided to Andrews ISD Police identified the wanted individual as Christopher Legget Cleveland, a faculty member at Andrews High School. Upon confirming the information and the existence of the outstanding warrant, Andrews ISD Police officers immediately located Cleveland and took him into custody without incident.
Cleveland was subsequently transported to and booked into the Andrews County Jail on an outstanding warrant issued in connection with an investigation in Arlington, Texas. The charge alleged in the warrant is online solicitation of a minor, a third-degree felony.
The Andrews ISD Police Department wants to assure parents, students, staff and the community that at no time during this incident were students or staff placed in danger. The individual was taken into custody promptly and without incident.
The safety and security of students, staff and the entire Andrews ISD community remain the department’s highest priority. The Andrews ISD Police Department takes all matters involving campus safety seriously and will continue to work closely with local, state and federal law enforcement partners to protect its schools.
The Andrews ISD Police Department is not the investigating agency in the underlying criminal case. Because the warrant and related investigation originated with authorities in Arlington, Texas, requests for additional information regarding the allegations, investigation or criminal charges should be directed to the Arlington Police Department.
