The inaugural and free Dallas Latino Film Festival will take place next week, Friday, Sept. 4 through Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Latino Cultural Center.
The festival will include screenings and resources for those wanting to learn more about filmmaking, like Q&As, panels, workshops, presentations and networking opportunities. The festival took short film submissions of all genres through Aug. 5 and encouraged a diverse array of creatives to enter.
“Whether you’re a filmmaker, industry professional, film lover or simply looking for a new way to connect with Latino stories, the Dallas Latino Film Festival offers a space to experience, celebrate and support the next generation of Latino cinema,” reads the Eventbrite page for the festival.
The schedule, according to Eventbrite, is as follows:
Friday:
6 p.m. — Dallas Latino Film Festival opening
6:15 p.m. — DLFF selection: family film block
7:15 p.m. — Dawged films block
8:15 p.m. — DLFF selection: documentary block
8:15 p.m. — Pegasus Media Project programming
9:45 p.m. — DAART Club (Dallas Asian American Art Collective) programming
Saturday:
12:30 p.m. — welcome and festival kickoff
1 p.m. — Prism Movement / Austin Flores Conference / Pegasus Media block
2:15 p.m. — Denton Black Film Festival / Blaze Unlimited / Oba Workshop
3:30 p.m. — DLFF Selection: art house film block / Oba Productions screenwriting workshop
4:30 p.m. — KERA Arts Docs block / Ceci Ceci Performance
6:15 p.m. — DLFF selection: awards and finalists screening
7:30 p.m. — festival awards
8:00 p.m. — closing mixer
