SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A San Antonio felon was sentenced to 140 months in federal prison for trying to blow up two ATMs and illegally possessing firearms and explosives.
Dustin Jay Ammons, 44, planted pipe bombs at two San Antonio banks in September 2025, but both explosions failed to breach the ATMs.
A federal search of his home later uncovered a homemade explosives lab containing PETN, multiple firearms, ammunition and another pipe bomb.
Ammons pleaded guilty to illegally possessing a firearm and transporting explosives. The sentences will run concurrently.
