EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 68-year-old man is dead following a multi-vehicle crash in East El Paso last month, according to the El Paso Police Department on Tuesday, Aug. 25.
As KTSM previously reported, six people were hurt, including two seriously injured, after a crash involving a rollover on Tuesday, July 14, at the intersection of Montwood Drive and Joe Battle.
Multi-vehicle crash leaves 2 people seriously injured in East El Paso
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2019 Ford Ranger was traveling northbound on Joe Battle and attempted to make a right turn onto Montwood “at a high rate of speed.”
The vehicle failed to negotiate the turn and hit the raised median, crashing into a 2019 Honda Ridgeline that was traveling east on Montwood, according to EPPD.
Both vehicles crossed into the westbound lanes and struck a 2016 Chevy Silverado, a 2009 Honda Ridgeline and a 2007 Jeep Wrangler, which were stopped at a red light at the intersection.
The drivers and passengers of the Ford Ranger (2), the 2019 Honda Ridgeline (2) and the driver of the 2009 Honda Ridgeline were transported to a hospital.
According to EPPD, Animal Control was called to remove a dead dog from the 2019 Honda Ridgeline.
On Monday, Aug. 24, investigators received information from the Medical Examiner’s Office that the driver of the Ford Ranger, identified as Glen Archer of Horizon, died as a result of the crash.
This is the 38th traffic fatality, compared to 40 at this time in 2025.
