American Airlines recently announced new complimentary in-flight snack options, including chocolate chip cookies and salty snacks.
But before we tell you anything else, don’t worry: the Biscoff cookies are here to stay.
“Small details can make a meaningful difference in the travel experience, especially the familiar touches customers look forward to throughout their journey,” said American’s Chief Customer Officer Heather Garboden. “As we looked at our snack offerings, we wanted to take the time to get this refresh right by listening to customer feedback and understanding what customers value most.”
Lotus’s Biscoff cookies and ginger ale have become the staple refreshments when flying. Delta was the first airline to serve Biscoff in the 1980s. And then American and United followed suit. It caused quite the uproar in 2020 when United pulled the Biscoff cookie off their menus and swapped for Oreo thins.
Now, it is only Delta and American that offers the Belgian treat. But here is what else the Fort Worth-based American Airlines will offer.

Starting in October, American Airlines will offer Biscoff cookies and Goldfish crackers in the morning flights, and Goldfish, Tate’s Bake Shop chocolate chip cookies and Peterson’s savory and sweet snack mix later in the day.
Additionally, American just launched a new, in-flight meal menu celebrating 100 years. Next year, first class passengers can indulge in beef wellington. And business class passengers have the option of prawn cocktail with caviar, beef wellington and chicken florentine. See the full menu here.
The Fort Worth-based airline also serves Dallas’ Pecan Lodge barbecue in first class on select flights. Options include a smoked brisket sandwich for lunch and a barbecue tray for dinner.
