But they also offer a very unique weekend item, The Zacahuil Tamale. “In Mexico, zacahuil is referred to as the “the Tamale of Tamales” or the “Party Tamale” because it is the biggest tamale dish ever prepared. It is usually reserved to feed big social gatherings and parties. The size of the average zacahuil measures at least one 1 meter long (3 feet), some zacahuiles can measure up to 5 meters long depending on the size of the social gathering. The average zacahuil can feed from 50 to 150 people. Tau Bay Vietnamese Restaurant located at 8150 Southwest Fwy T, Houston, TX 77074. This one is my hidden gem. I hold all other Vietnamese restaurants to this one. I first start out with the crunchy egg rolls which is always complimented by the freshest herbs and veggies. The I’ll order wither a big ol bowl of pho (36 is my choice) or their mouthwatering pork vermicelli (#41 includes grilled shrimp). I like my food on the spicier side, so having a plethora of options already at each table is a bonus.

Kabab Shack & Grill

This is one of the most underrated Mediterranean restaurants in Houston. The food is absolutely amazing. Unlike other Mediterranean spots that have bland food, Kabab Shack puts a unique twist on its Sauces. They have the best Koobideh in town with their white sauce and green mint chutney sauce. The food is not spicy but very flavorful and the staff is extremely friendly. This is a great place for lunch or dinner with the family or catering.
