Labor Day weekend is almost here, and if you’re planning a road trip anywhere across the Lone Star State, chances are you’ll need a place to rest. For those who travel with a motorhome, they may not necessarily need a hotel, but rather a safe area to park.
Yes. Pilot offers overnight parking for both RV drivers and truckers, according to its website. The chain even encourages RV travelers to stop by between trips and use its RV-specific services for vehicles including fuel lanes, propane refills and dump stations.
No. In a statement to MySA in July, a Pilot Flying J spokesperson clarified that while extended parking and overnight accommodations are available for RVers and commercial drivers, those same parking privileges aren’t available to general passengers.
“At Pilot, our top priority is providing a safe, clean and welcoming environment for all travelers on the road. While we offer extended parking for our professional drivers, our passenger parking areas are intended for short-term rest and enjoying the amenities of our travel centers, allowing guests to recharge before continuing their journey,” the spokesperson noted.
Pilot currently has 118 travel centers across Texas, according to its website. Central Texas is home to several including three in San Antonio and others in smaller cities like Lytle, Von Ormy, Buda, Lockhart and New Braunfels.
Beyond Texas, the chain boasts more than 900 locations throughout 43 states.
