HOUSTON — As Houston is sweating out a hot streak, KHOU 11 meteorologist Chita Craft did some number crunching on the city’s longest stretches of 100-plus-degree weather.

The city’s longest consecutive streak of temperatures 100 degrees or higher came in 2011 with 24 days. Second place is more recent with 23 days in 2023. Here’s a full breakdown of the top five longest streaks:

After Tuesday, Houston is currently sitting at 6 days of temperatures reaching 100 degrees or higher. It’s also expected to pass that threshold on Wednesday before rain returns to the forecast on Thursday.
