SAN ANTONIO — A 28-year-old man was arrested after allegedly stabbing another man who attempted to break up a fight during a South Side gathering, according to San Antonio police.
The incident happened just before midnight on Saturday in the 6100 block of Padre Drive near VFW Boulevard.
Police on scene said a man was talking to another man’s girlfriend during an event where a group of people were gathered at the center.
A verbal altercation ensued and the suspect was asked to leave, police said. The suspect allegedly began to physically fight with multiple people when the victim attempted to break it up.
The 33-year-old man was later stabbed twice in the torso area. He was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
The suspect was detained and later charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, police said.
