Firefighters spent over seven hours Friday battling a chaotic RV fire in Tarrant County that crews feared could spread to nearby structures, fire officials said.
Several fire departments including Crowley and the Tarrant County Emergency Services District responded around 2:30 p.m. to a reported vehicle fire on Jessica Lane in Rendon, Crowley Fire Department said in a social media post.

Crowley firefighters said they found an RV fully engulfed in flames that were spreading to nearby structures, trees and brush. The fire became a large scale incident requiring over 10 fire departments and the Texas A&M Forestry Service to assist, according to the Crowley Fire Department.
Two firefighters from the scene were taken to hospitals, according to Crowley Fire Department. Both firefighters are in stable condition. Details on which departments the firefighters were with and their injuries were not shared by the fire department.

Crews spent over seven hours in sweltering hot 100 degree temperatures extinguishing five acres of burned brush and thick tree lines. Putting the fire out was complicated by limited access for fire apparatus and distance to fire hydrants, officials said. Some of those water supply lines were also damaged by vehicle traffic, Crowley Fire Department said.
The Tarrant County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
