Houston has some of the highest rated and fastest growing suburbs in the U.S. But that could change, thanks to a plan from the left that has already started outside of blue cities like Minneapolis and Seattle.
They call it ‘Missing Middle Housing’, which is high density housing and apartments in single family neighborhoods.
“You see the results, you see the increase in crime, you see the quality of the schools go down” said Jeanette Hoffman, Republican strategist, “Communities become ruined, and you don’t have the high quality of life that you once did.”
The suburbs have long been a target of the left, with the Houston City Council actually approving ‘Missing Middle Housing’ development back in 2023. So the failed quality of life in the blue cities, is coming to a suburb near you.
“The reason why people move to the suburbs is because of that quality of life, because of the strong support for police, because of high quality schools” Hoffman told KTRH, “And then, yet politicians seem to think that they can import these big city policies that actually ruin communities.”
It’s why she says it all starts with local elections.
“Absolutely, these local races are critical to our quality of life. And you really do get what you vote for” noted Hoffman.
As one political writer asked, “Why should America’s most successful suburbs take their cues from cities struggling to preserve the very qualities suburban families value?”
