Scott, 53, was expected to perform Sunday and Monday at Smart Financial Centre in Sugar Land. The artist announced in March that she was adding a second show after the first night sold out.
“I am very sorry to report that what doctors perceived to be a minor virus has turned into Covid 19,” Scott said in an Instagram post. “While I feel OK, I’m not able to go out without a mask. For everyone’s safety and wellness, I have to reschedule my last four shows on the US TOUR as well.”
Dates in Houston were moved to Sept. 11 and 12. Dallas dates were rescheduled to Sept. 14 and 15.
Scott, 53, has won eight awards — including multiple Grammys and NAACP Image Awards — and received numerous nominations for her work as an artist and actor. Scott released her sixth studio album, “To Whom This May Concern,” on Feb. 13. In an interview cited by NPR, Scott described “To Whom This May Concern” as a “personal revolution” aimed at encouraging listeners toward self-actualization.
