Fall is almost here, and even though autumn in Texas can feel more like a state of mind than a shift in the weather, it’s still the perfect time to celebrate the season! Get ready to dive into the harvest spirit because “one of Dallas’ most beloved fall traditions” officially returns to the Dallas Arboretum this September.

Everything really is bigger in Texas, and the Arboretum’s highly acclaimed autumn festival proves it year after year. Opening on Saturday, September 19, the 66-acre arboretum will once again be transformed into a dazzling fall wonderland with over 100,000 pumpkins, gourds, and squash.

This year’s spectacular theme is “Harvest Hues.” The beloved Pumpkin Village is getting a bold, artistic twist by reimagining the works of modern and contemporary artists. Visitors can explore six larger-than-life Pumpkin Houses honoring the iconic styles of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Mark Rothko, Louise Bourgeois, Piet Mondrian, M.C. Escher, and Jackson Pollock.

The season also includes scheduled family activities, culinary classes, horticultural workshops, and other programs.

The Arboretum is also hosting a fantastic lineup of special events throughout the 2026 season, including:

Pumpkins and Pints: Enjoy craft beer, wine, and food trucks under the evening glow of the Pumpkin Village (hosted on October 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30).

BOO-tanical Trick or Treat: A frightfully fun night of Halloween-themed educational activities, crafts, and sweet treats.

Pumpkins After Hours: A special sensory-friendly evening offering exclusive, calmer access to the village on October 20.

The Goth Garden Workshop: Explore the beautiful, darker side of gardening.

Pumpkin & Squash Show and Sale: Pick up your own unique gourds for home decorating (October 16–18).

Named one of the “Best Pumpkin Festivals in America” by Fodor’s Travel, Autumn at the Arboretum runs from September 19 through November 1, 2026, at 8525 Garland Road.
