A popular Christmas store is putting up its first retail shop in North Texas.
Madisonville Christmas Co.— which has its flagship site more than two hours of south of Dallas — is set to open a pop-up shop in Plano in September, according to a company statement. The store will be in the former Weir’s Furniture store on Preston Road near the intersection of Spring Creek.
The Dallas-Fort Worth shop is set to be available throughout the holiday season, according to Ashley Rentz, founder of the store that’s located in the city of Madisonville.
“North Texas is already an important part of our customer base, so in many ways this feels less like entering a new market and more like bringing Madisonville closer to customers who already know us,” Rentz said in an emailed response to questions. “Many of our guests make the drive from North Texas to Madisonville specifically to shop with us.”
Christmas-focused stores have long been popular around the country as fans of the holiday make their way to different shops in places such as North Pole, Alaska, San Diego, Hiawassee, Ga., and other spots — including Arlington and the well-known Decorator’s Warehouse.
The Madisonville store sits on a roomy campus, offering shoppers trees, ornaments and many other items along with an in-store restaurant.
“Plano gives us an opportunity to bring a curated version of the Madisonville shopping experience closer to those customers while introducing the brand to an entirely new audience,” Rentz said. “At the same time, we want the Plano store to give people a taste of what they can experience at our 11-acre Madisonville destination, where Christmas extends beyond shopping to dining, entertainment, events and overnight stays.”
At the North Texas site, shoppers can expect artificial trees, ornaments, ribbon, wreaths, garlands, floral designs, tabletop and mantel decor. The location will include custom design services, giving customers access to holiday designers who can help create a cohesive, personalized Christmas look for their homes.
