On LinkedIn, Acosta, a longtime favorite of the station’s viewership, said in an August 19 post that she will join FirstDay Foundation, a charitable organization that works with nonprofits, as Director of Media Relations. Acosta joined KSAT in 2018 and became a familiar face on “Good Morning San Antonio,” covering major stories across South Texas. Before arriving in San Antonio, she reported in Sacramento and Corpus Christi.
“I traded the newsroom for a new kind of storytelling,” Acosta wrote in the post. “…I’m taking my love of storytelling, connecting with people and shining a light on the work happening in our communities into this new role. FirstDay Foundation’s mission is simple but powerful: ‘Making Good, Greater.’ The Foundation supports nonprofit organizations doing meaningful work for children, families and communities — here at home and around the world.”
She added, “I’m looking forward to helping tell those stories, elevating the organizations doing this important work and sharing the impact they’re making every day.”
In early August, she announced her exit from the station after eight years. In her announcement, Acosta reflected on the personal milestones she experienced during her time at KSAT, including buying a home, getting married and starting a family. She also welcomed her first child earlier this year after announcing her pregnancy in 2024.
“I am most sad about leaving my KSAT family behind,” she wrote. “Thank you to our viewers who have been so warm and welcoming to me, and I will continue to see you around San Antonio.”
While it’s a big change, Acosta said she feels like FirstDay Foundation is a “pretty great place to land.”
