EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — A surge of popular events helped the El Paso County Coliseum bring in record revenue in the third quarter, according to the El Paso Sports Commission.

The commission said events in May alone generated more than $1.5 million in ticket sales and drew more than 33,000 guests.

Tony Rodriguez, director of marketing and events for the El Paso Sports Commission, credited three major shows at the venue.

“We had three key events, Disney on Ice, CAZZU and MVPW with ESPN boxing there at the County Coliseum,” Rodriguez said.

According to the El Paso Sports Commission, Disney On Ice: Road Trip Adventures ran May 6–10 and brought in 21,371 attendees across eight performances, generating $674,076 in ticket sales revenue.

CAZZU drew a sold-out crowd of 4,734 fans and generated $260,020.50 in ticket sales revenue, which the Coliseum said reinforced El Paso’s position as a key stop for major Latin music tours.

MVPW-03 attracted 7,225 fans and generated $610,990 in ticket sales revenue, becoming the highest-grossing and best-selling combat sports event in El Paso County Coliseum. The Coliseum said the nationally recognized boxing event also brought a tourism boost, with ticket buyers coming from more than 70 media markets across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Additionally, about 21% of tickets were purchased outside the El Paso market, which the venue said helped generate additional economic activity through hotel stays, dining, transportation and retail spending throughout the region.

“The success of May 2026 reflects the Coliseum’s continued role as the Borderland’s premier entertainment and community gathering destination,” said Janet Vargas, President for the El Paso Sports Commission. “From world-class concerts and sporting events to family programming and local community activities, the Coliseum continues to create memorable experiences while generating meaningful economic impact for the region.”

Rodriguez said the demand for those kinds of events drove the strong turnout and sales.

“You’re bringing events that people are wanting to see, and so that’s how you get those numbers, and we just did it in one month,” he said.

The El Paso Sports Commission said it plans to bring those events back to the Coliseum, along with others that have not appeared in years, including monster truck shows and TNA wrestling.
